There’s a powerful set of data selection and extraction features including sorting, summarising, date calculations, record filters. Basically, everything you could do in a Query on the AS/400 … and more.

You can schedule extracts and transfers to run interactively or in batch, and also automatically email the transferred data either as an attachment or a shortcut to any number of recipients. Email messages can also be generated automatically with any preformatted text and also information about the data itself (such as weekly totals, number of records etc) – all especially useful for sending order or delivery confirmations.

RouteOne can also allow you to define output file names based on dates and times for example. If you’re outputting to Excel you can create multiple worksheets within the same Excel file, and use a variety of parameters to define file names and worksheet names.

You can even ask RouteOne to execute a macro (within Excel or Access) or a SQL DTS Package once the data is transferred, and before the email is sent. Within Access or SQL Server you can create extra databases, tables, replace tables or append to existing tables.

If you’re currently trading overseas RouteOne can even translate data within database files or spool files into any other language. So, if you send invoices or purchase orders, for example, to customers in say France or Germany you can communicate with your trading partners in the way they want. You can also use MS Word templates to enhance the appearance of any documents created in the AS/400 with logos, headers and footers etc.

A wide range of Pre and Post-Processing options can be also created – iSeries, batch or executables.
